I would first of all get a copy of your credit report from all three credit reporting agencies. The information on how to do that is found here. There may be stuff on there that you forgot all about - the first time I saw mine I had a credit card on there that I applied for in college in order to get a free pizza or something ridiculous like that and I had never used it. You should find listed the names of agencies you owe money to. My credit union offers debt management service - I would use them rather than going to some online firm for help because there are a lot of scams out there. I would research credit unions in your area and see if they offer debt management service (i think most do) and make an appointment. You would have to open an account with them but a credit union is a good place to do your banking. They generally have decent interest rates and not as many ridunkulous fees.

Good luck!

start by getting a credit report that will show everybody that you owe money too. then once you get that add your debt and if is over 5,000 try to get a debt consolidation loan or try to settle for the debt, this two sites will give you a free analysis on yout debt.

Care One Credit is good. I have worked with them and know a few people that have. They will charge you $30 per month. You can do everything online, you don't even need to talk to anyone.

Go to annualcreditreport.com and get your free report, don't pay for the score. It will list everything, including contact info.

You won't get much anywhere with your creditors, but Care One will work on your behalf.

They only way to restore is to pay them off completely.
