SMH asked:
I talking about excellent credit with atleast five years of credit history, no blemishes what soever, and someone with a high credit rating. I am just kind of wondering what kind of offers does good credit get you, especially compared to people with bad credit? What kind of APR can you get with bad credit, overdue accounts in the history, poor credit, and a short credit history?
I am just curious as to how much of an advantage is it to have a good credit history?

I no longer have a credit card and every site I go to asks me to purchase my credit report. Is there anyway that I can get my report without using a credit card?
Peter T asked:
I want a service that I can view my credit report and credit score for all major credit bureaus 3 or 4 times a year and make disputes quickly and easily as needed. I don’t want to pay an arm and a leg. I shouldn’t have to buy my own personal information in the first place.
Dr. Ernest J Folk asked:
With the economy down and it impossible to get credit. Do you think it is a good idea to lower the credit standards so that it is easier to get credit. For example. Those that currently have high credit scores should be able to pay no interest on any loans. And those that have fair credit scores should enjoy the low interest rates of the people that had excellent credit. And for those that have poor credit, they should have decent rates, not sky high rates. In other words if they get rid of high interest on loans, do you think the economy will improve?

I found out my credit score is 550. Since then, I’ve paid some stuff off, leaving only a student loan, car payment, and 1 low credit credit card. How long will it take to increase? I want to buy a house in the next 2 years.

If I have a credit card that I do not use, how does this account reflect on my credit report? Does it show an open account in good standing?

AMEFIKA asked:
When I apply for loans and tell the creditors what my credit score is they still run my credit. All the reports I read talk about the imporatnce of knowing your credit score and that’s fine. But what’s the importance of knowing my score when the creditors run it anyway? Also, how do we know that the rates that we qualify for are true based on ourcredit score? Is there a chart tat we can put our credit score up against and it tells us what rates we qualify for?
jaja asked:
Can someone tell me in as simple terms as possible as to why the investment banks are crashing out like the lehman brothers recently? what economic phenomenon is causing this? How is it related to the credit crunch?
